This limited edition Honeysuckle tile from the 'Old School House' range would make a perfect house warming gift or an ideal 9th Wedding anniversary gift.
Inspired by the vintage flooring in what used to be Grange Primary School, Millisle, these hand decorated tiles depict a range of real and mythical animals and plants. Hand crafted using porcelain clay, each one is unique, numbered and comes with a certificate of authentication from the artist.
Current designs include the Domestic Goose, Honeysuckle and Baby Grouse with more to come.
According to the ’Secret Language of Flowers’ by Lady Mary Wortley Montague, the honeysuckle represents being ‘united in love’. In European lore a honeysuckle blossoming near your home foretells a wedding within a year.
Each tile is individually hand made by artist Zara Lyness and as such each one will be unique (just like her!) with designs and colours varying - giving each tile a character all of its own.
Each tile comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The porcelain tile is hand cut and the relief is built up with layers of porcelain, adding and carving to shape the final design The tiles are then bisque fired and highlighted with coloured underglazes using fine brushes before the transparent glossy glaze is applied. Each piece goes through a final firing and is ready for mounting. Due to the care and attention taken at each stage orders can not be rushed so please do allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.
